Georgian Opponent For Commey

Georgias Ramaz Bebnadze has been named as the opponent for Ghanas undefeated Commonwealth lightweight champion, Richard Commey. The two boxers are scheduled to slug it out as the main undercard of the interim WBA World super middleweight championship between Vincent Feigenbutzs and Giovanni De Carolis at the dm-Arena in Karlsruhe, Germany on October 17. It will be the maiden appearance for the reining SWAG proFessional Boxer of the Year in Germany, having made a huge impact in the United Kingdom and South Africa. Commey comes into this contest with an impressive 22-0, 20 KOs as against Bebnadzes 16-2, 12 KOs. The Georgian is considered a very formidable opponent for the undefeated Ghanaian, having proved to be one of his countrys hard punchers and knockout specialists but Commey has indicated he is eagerly waiting to build on his success. Following an impressive Las Vegas debut that saw the Ghanaian power-puncher claim the IBF Intercontinental title with an eighth-round TKO win over Bahodir Mamadjonov, Commey has stressed the need to put up another convincing performance that will edge him closer to a chance for the world title. Winning the IBF Intercontinental title meant a lot to me and my team, said Commey. Its really given us an idea as to where were heading. To do it in Vegas, headlining a show in the fight capital of the world, made it even more special. No other Ghanaian boxer has done that in their first fight in the US. Gradually Im getting closer to a world title shot. I believe Im only two or three fights away. So at this stage every fight is important to me. Ill be approaching this fight like its a world title challenge. Im training hard and will make sure Im in the best possible shape for October 17. I want to win and win convincingly to prove Im ready to face the very best. Im not looking past Bebnadze but after this fight I want to defend one of my belts and then add a World title to my collection.
