Dr Zenator To Become President In 2021?

Having been cleared by the National Democratic Congress’ vetting committee to contest the November 7 parliamentary primaries of the ruling party in the Klottey Korle constituency, former president Rawlings’ eldest daughter, Dr Zenator Agyeman Rawlings seemed all set consolidating her presidential dream come 2020.

Credible intelligence available to The aL-hAJJ indicates that the medical-trained-doctor daughter of the NDC founder will seek to lead her father’s party into the 2020 presidential election after winning the upcoming primaries of the ruling party, and retaining the Klottey Korle seat for the NDC in the general elections.

The aL-hAJJ’s independent investigations in the Klottey Korle constituency show that the 37 year old first child of the former first family will on 7th November surely get the mandate of the NDC delegates to lead the party’s parliamentary battle going into the 2016 general elections.

She is seeking to snatch the slot from incumbent Member of Parliament, Nii Armah Ashitey and two other contestants, John Coleman and Samuel Constance Kweku.

The controversy surrounding her NDC membership was put to rest when she was finally cleared last Thursday to contest the forthcoming parliamentary primaries of the party.
Moments after the vetting, and elated by the outcome, an overjoyed Dr Zenator, who has earned the full backing and support of her parents, stated “It went very well…? I think that the biggest issue was whether I had a membership card and I presented it. So, that put a lot of minds to ease. I have been cleared and we are going to do the balloting to know my position on the ballot paper”, she told equally enthusiastic supporters and the media.

Reports indicate that the Ridge and Adjiriganor residences of the former first couple was set agog when news broke that Dr Zenator had been given the green light to kick start her political journey which will most likely end her at Flagstaff House in 2021.

According to sources close to the Rawlingses, Dr Zenator’s parliamentary ambition is only a harbinger for a bigger “political project ahead of the 2021 elections…it is just to prepare her for a bigger office in future.”

“Now that she has been cleared, she will go ahead and win the parliamentary primaries and win the main election…that is what we are working on, but the main project is to prepare her politically for the NDC flag bearer slot in 2020,” another source who pleaded anonymity told The aL-hAJJ.

The source referred to Mr Rawlings’ recent public statement on her daughter’s bid to say that “the old man and madam have all endorsed Zenator’s dream to follow in the footsteps of her dad who ended up as president….”

Addressing the media after recently inspecting ongoing dredging works in the Korle lagoon, Mr Rawlings told the media he and his wife Nana Konadu have given their blessings to their daughter to go for the Klottey Korle parliamentary contest of the NDC.

Without mincing words, Mr Rawlings described his 37 year old daughter as very versatile in nature, while hoping that she would be able to stand the fierce challenges of politics in Ghana in order to make her case to win the votes.

While many thought the former President was only throwing his support in pursuit of his daughter’s parliamentary ambition, sources at the Ridge and Adjiriganor residences of the former first family recently told The aL-hAJJ that Mr Rawlings’s statement “goes beyond his daughter’s parliamentary bid, it also extends to Dr. Zenator’s presidential ambition in 2020.”

“The last time, I told you Dr. Zenator is seeking to represent Klottey Korle in the 2017 parliament to prepare for the NDC flag bearer contest going into the 2020 elections by which time she would have attain the constitutional required age 40…I can confirm to you that the old man (Mr Rawlings) and madam (Nana Konadu) have all endorsed it… that is why the old man made that statement,” one of our sources revealed.

The former President is said to have recently confided in close allies that her daughter will make a good president considering her integrity, tenacity and love for humanitarian work. “I’ve been Head of State before so I can identify a presidential material just by observing someone…Ezenator is one of such persons who will make good president for Ghana,” Mr Rawlings was reported to have stated.

The aL-hAJJ’s sources close to Zenator in the Klottey Korle constituency intimated that “what we are looking forward to is for her to retain the seat with a huge margin in the 2016 general elections to further boost President Mahama’s one touch vow".
Just as American President, Hussein Barack Obama, the daughter of the NDC founder, her close aides say, hope to serve only a term in parliament after which she will stake a claim to lead the governing party into the 2020 elections as President Mahama’s successor.
