NDC UK/Ireland Youth Calls On Akufo Addo To Debate The Government On Policy, Not With Evasion

We, the youth of the National Democratic Congress in the UK and Ireland, call on the flag bearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party to come clearly and firmly on any policy alternatives he has to the ones President Mahama and the NDC are pursuing to transform and better Ghanaian lives. Having followed the utterances of the NPP flagbearer during his recent tour of the country, we are convinced that Mr Akuffo Addo is not conversant with the current development realities and prospects of Ghana. Even more, he showed no mastery of any sector of project Ghana. This lack of mastery of our country became more palpable in his radio interview on the belated City FM Breakfast show this Monday 12th October, 2015. As we listened and yearned to be engaged on policy, we became concerned that the NPP flagbearer, either evaded direct responses to core policy issues with verbiage or was bailed out by his compatriot, Alan Kyeremanteng, who equally failed to spark any imagination in the Ghanaian mind. Whilst this is going on, President Mahama has continued to exhibit competence in the task of leading and his authority over the relevant policy choices he is executing for Ghana. Indeed he has also spoken crisply with facts, figures and a coherent transformational strategy. Knowing very well that steering our dear country requires a firm intellectual grasp of the issues, leadership competence and an assuring diplomacy, we call on Akuffo Addo to meet President Mahama at only one level; the level of policy. That way, we can have a healthy debate. And by so doing Ghanaians can read, listen and make an informed choice in the coming general elections. We are certain that, to President Mahama, 'There Is No Alternative'. However, we seek to test our government's superior policy choices, performance and strategy against the NPP's, which appear non-existent so far. Ghana is undergoing transformation. And we are confident in the able, safe and sure hands of President John Mahama to see us through it. God bless our homeland Ghana. God bless the NDC. God bless President John Dramani Mahama.
