Tolon NDC Boils; Former MP Incites DCE, Others Against Aspirant

The forthcoming NDC Parliamentary primaries are envisaged to witness deep acrimony in the Northern region if leadership fails to intervene.

Currently there are grueling tactics and slanderous maneuvers by some aspirants against one another in the region giving the worrying impression that all might go well.

The NDC in the Tolon constituency is not at peace. There is intense internal bickering and recrimination forcing an aspirant to raise an alarm and calling the leadership of the party to intervene.

The aspirant, Hajia Azaratu Mahamadu Yogu has served noticed of dragging the immediate former MP of the area, Hon. Abdul Razaq Imoro to court for causing hate between her, the chiefs and the DCE Hon Seidu Abubari.

The former MP is accused of intimidating tactics and playing tribal politics.

According to her, the former MP who is also seeking to represent the party in the constituency in the 2016 election, hired some youth who infiltrated her campaign and illegally recorded her.

She said the former legislator doctored the illegally acquired tape and plays it around to the chiefs and the DCE and suggested that she insulted those personalities.

Hajia claimed the former MP is exploiting the tribal division among the people for political expediency.

“I have informed the regional executives of the party and will sue him if he continued doing that. He sent some boys to record me, and he is using the tape to campaign against me. He played it to Tolon Chiefs and the DCE claiming I insulted them”

"I was only telling my people what happened when we planned an executives meeting, I did not insult anyone but some of them are acting on that and dont want to even respond to my greetings"

A 45minute recording tape in the possession of peacefmonline.com heard a voice speaking to a group of people believed to be it supporters. The voice among other things was evasively chiding someone who decided to pull out from a scheduled arrangement.

Hajia Azara indicated that, the action of the Former MP has caused the chiefs and the DCE to form a strong aversion restricting her campaign in some part of the constituency.

Hajia believes some have bought to the propaganda because she noticed some strange behaviors

She said, she was not the architect for the dwindling political fortunes of the former MP and warned she would initiate a legal action against him.

“He should leave me alone; it was his lies that caused him to lose the elections. The people know that and that is why they changed him. I don’t have hand in his defeat. I will send him to court if he continues”
