I'm Disappointed GJA Should Probe Further...They Should Push For The Interest Of Journalists - Kwamena Duncan

Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwamena Duncan is disappointed in the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) for failing to probe recent accidents involving some media personnel in the country.

Over two months ago, the Presidential Press Corps were involved in a fatal accident on the Afienya-Dawhenya road when returning from an official assignment.

Scores of the journalists were seriously injured while one person died.

Another accident involving some journalists from Takoradi occurred on Monday.

In both incidents, a Presidential Staffer reportedly made "unsavory" comments regarding the accident victims.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kwamena Duncan wondered why the GJA is not pushing for the interest of the journalists who have become the punching bag for the Presidential Staffer, Stan Dogbe.

According to him, the GJA is the umbrella body of the journalist and so, is looking up to GJA executives to launch investigations into the root cause of the recent accidents involving some Presidential Press men.

He called on the GJA to begin to pose relevant questions such as "which investigations have been done so far? What is the status of the investigation?" to the Presidency and insist that the authorities respond appropriately.
