I Enjoy Working With Amissah-Arthur - Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has once again reiterated his ‘excellent relationship’ with his Vice President and further mentioned his reliability, competence and commitment to his duties.

President Mahama who was speaking on GBC Garden City Radio in Kumasi as part of his Changing lives and Transforming Ghana tour in the Ashanti region, granted an interview with Mr. Emmanuel Essel host of the Garden City Radio’s morning show.

He lauded his Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthurs invaluable support to him during his tenure as ECOWAS chairman. This statement from the President continues to show the confidence that he reposes in his Veep and has been consistent with the respect that he has in his Vice president, putting to a final rest the debate about a bad blood between him and his Vice, Mr. Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur.

Speaking to the host, the President said, “I enjoy working with my Vice President. As a head of the Economic Planning committee, my Vice has initiated many policy interventions to keep this country running. He is also good in the day-to-day running of the state; anytime I’m out of the country performing functions as the head of the ECOWAS or on an official mission for the country; Mr. Amissah Arthur really takes care of everything. ”

When asked if he will maintain this current vice as running mate for the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections, the President replied: “I think it is too early to mention my running mate even before I get elected. My election for the party's candidacy will be confirmed in November so I think it will be prejudicial to mention it before I get elected.”

When pressed further about  it he said “I know who He would be”.

In the spirit of patriotism, and in the newness of hope and expectation which abides with belief, I would want us to remove every doubt that had clogged the wheel of my enthusiasm in the Ghana project. I have hope coursing in my veins. I have the blind faith of a patriot. I believe that Mahama and Amissah Arthur hold the promise of this Greater Ghanaian; for there is that thing about the duo that calls, and sobs, and clutches at the heart of every well-meaning Ghanaian. There is something about them that rekindles the dying embers of nationalism in the bossom of every person, in Ghana and beyond, who want the best for our country...

In them we continue to see an unyielding desire and thrusts to get our country working better. For I believe that he realizes that Providence has so positioned them  for this task of taking Ghana, at least if not to the land which our bounteous mineral resources and human capital promise us, somewhere very close to that. Today I can demonstrate my appreciation of his charisma and my total support for the Mahama-Amissah Arthur Changing lives agenda..." he added.
