Sunyani Chief Is A Govt Appointee!

The Paramount Chief of Sunyani, Nana Bosom Asor Nkrawiri’s promise of 80 percent of vote for President Mahama for his unprecedented developmental projects does surprise the opposition NPP’s Youth Organizer of Brong Ahafo region, Mr. Kwame Bafo.

According to him, the Sunyani Paramount Chief is currently the Regional Chairman of Lands Commission appointed by the office of President John Mahama to occupy the position in Brong Ahafo region.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Kwame Bafo averred he would have been surprised to hear the Sunyani Omanhene say something different as his remarks to show appreciation to the President.

He maintained such Paramount Chief benefitting from the Presidency cannot turn around to pray for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to come to power for him to lose his position as the Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of Lands Commission.

Kwame Bafo challenged that the Sunyani Omanhene cannot pledge such outrageous promise to the President on the merit of the well being of the people of Sunyani and the development in the township because the NPP’s achievement in Sunyani and Brong Ahafo region in general is insurmountable.

“It is not surprising to hear Sunyani Omanhene’s pledge because he has been appointed by the office of President Mahama as the Regional Chairman of Land Commission. I don’t think he can ever pray for NPP to come to power for him to lose his position,” he stated.

He however reminded the Paramount Chief of Sunyani that the people in his township are not eating Manna to warrant 80 percent vote for President Mahama; thus the inter-ministerial report indicates that Brong Ahafo has never benefitted from GYEEDA.

He added that Ghana Statistical 2010 report shows clearly that Brong Ahafo is the only region which never saw its youth getting employment from the various national security services.

He sets the record straight that when it comes to the developmental projects in Sunyani, NPP constructed the Sunyani town roads, Nursing Training College, upgraded the Polytechnic and the Sunyani-Atoanie road which used to kill the indigenes.

He debunked the comment of President Mahama on the Sunyani University saying that the University has always been in Sunyani as Natural Resources Faculty of KNUST; stressing the NDC only changed the name of the faculty to Energy and Natural Resources.

He was of the view that the people of Brong Ahafo will vote in 2016 elections on the basis of hardships going on in the country.
