Sports Council asks media to register for accreditation

The National Sports Council (NSC) has urged media personnel interested in covering the 2010 World Cup qualifying match between Ghana Black Stars and their Sudanese counterparts to apply for accreditation at its Public Relations Office at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra. Interested sports writers have therefore been asked to apply with one passport size picture, an official letter from their media organisation and personal identity cards. Mr Hamah Hamid Issakah, head of Public Relations Department of the NSC in a press release copied to GNA Sports on Wednesday said the exercise will begin at 10am to 5pm from Thursday Sept. 3 to Friday, September 4. He said each Print and Radio media house is entitled to apply for two persons while Television stations are entitled to six persons. Mr Issakah said the exercise is to ensure sanity at the media box and provide the media with the needed recognition and therefore urged all eligible sports writers to endeavour to comply with the requirements to ensure a successful game. The Black Stars face the Desert Hawks at the Ohene Djan Sports stadium on Sunday in what is seen as the coup de grace for the home side who won the first leg 2-0 away in Omdurman to top Group D with nine points from three games and will need a convincing win to ensure they are the first to qualify for the South Africa Mundial.
