Anyidoho's Argument The "Most Bankrupt" Ever...His Silence Was A Relief To Ghanaians - Ursula Owusu

NPP Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has fired back at the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho over some stinging remarks the latter passed about the opposition New Patriotic Party regarding the voters register brouhaha.

The Ablekuma West expressed extreme disappointment at Mr Anyidoho's attack against the NPP and counselled him not to ruin the country’s peace by making seditious statements, since his loud silence a couple of years back, "brought relief" to Ghanaians.

Concerns raised by the NPP regarding its findings that Ghana's voters register has been bloated with Togolese nationals did not go down well with the NDC Deputy General Secretary.

Responding to the NPP's demand for a new voters register, Koku Anyidoho on Thursday, August 20, 2015 described the opposition party's findings as "disingenuous".

To him, the NPP wants to sideline the people of Volta Region and portray them as a group who are not part of the country.

"NPP’s anti-Ewes and anti-Volta Region must stop," he said in an interview with Okay FM.

But Hon. Ursula, contributing to a panel discussion on PeaceFM's "Kokrokoo" Morning Show, described the NDC Deputy Chief Scribe's comments as the "most bankrupt argument" ever in the annals of Ghana's politics.

That is the most bankrupt argument I’ve heard in a long while. No wonder it’s coming from Koku Anyidoho. His silence brought us relief but now that he has gained some authority, look at what he’s doing…"

She therefore advised Koku Anyidoho and the NDC not to ruin the country’s peace by making seditious statements that can potentially affect the country's peace.

We have only one country…If the country collapses, women and children will suffer most. I plead with you to desist from tribalism when engaging in your kind of politics. Our being is by God’s doing. What binds us together as Ghanaians is more than what divides us,” the Ablekuma West MP stated.
