NPP Suspends National Chairman Paul Afoko Indefinitely

National Executive Council [NEC] of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP] has finally suspended its national chairman, Paul Afoko.

Paul Afoko has been as a subject for discussion in the NPP over months – his style of leadership has been questioned not only by party supporters but by some gurus in the NPP.

Many believed he [Paul Afoko] has an ‘agenda’ against the party’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Paul Afoko has also been accused of masterminding the death of the NPP’s Upper East Chairman, Adams Mahama – which his brother Gregory Afoko was arrested.

The party’s NEC upon the internal wrangling in the party today, Friday, October 23, 2015 has suspended Mr. Paul Afoko indefinitely.

Peace FM’s reporter, Nana Ntiri reports from the party’s headquarters that – the party has come to a decision to suspend Mr. Afoko.

This follows a petition by Council of Elders to the Disciplinary committee of the party asking Afoko to step aside for working against the interest of the party.

She noted that, the party Communicational Director will issue an official statement to the issue.

NEC SUSPENDS MR. PAUL AFOKO AS NATIONAL CHAIRMAN

On the 21st October, 2015, the National Disciplinary Committee of the New Patriotic Party submitted a report to the Executive Committee of the NPP; recommending the indefinite suspension of Mr. Paul Afoko as National Chairman.

At its meeting today, Friday 23 October, 2015, the National Executive Committee unanimously endorsed the recommendation of the National Disciplinary Committee.

By the decision of the NEC, Mr. Paul Afoko is suspended indefinitely from the position of National Chairman of NPP.

Mr. Freddie Blay, the 1st Vice Chair, per the NPP’s Constitution, becomes acting National Chairman of the NPP.
