CPP Presidential Aspirant To Transform Party

Mr Joseph Agyapong, President of Providence Telecommunication Company based in Canada and a presidential aspirant of the Convention People's Party (CPP) has called on the delegates to elect him as the flag bearer of the party for a transformational change to win the 2016 general elections.

He said what the CPP need now is a selfless, dedicated and a confident leader, who is ready to lead the party to victory in 2016.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Agyapong said, the CPP is the only party that has the ideology and foundation that can change the fortunes of Ghana, but said, it will depend on the leadership of the party to prove that to Ghanaians.

He said, what has eluded the party for some years now is the lack of confidence of the flag bearers and some leaders, adding that, he would encourage the party leadership to believe that the time to win power is now.

Mr Agyapong said he is coming with a new vision that will take the country to its destination, to help solve the energy crises, youth unemployment, challenges facing the health sector and a host of problems confronting the country.

He said, to revive Ghana, the country would need a national data system and decentralizing the governance system for every town with a population of over 5,000 people to have their mayors and leaders.

Mr Agyepong said, by eliminating filth and creating a green environment through growing of trees and green grass to beautify the country, many unskilled youth could be put back to work.

Mr Agyapong appealed to all CPP sympathisers to respect and acknowledge their past and work towards a better future for the party.

Mr Agyapong is hoping to contest for the flagbearer of the CPP with the 2012 flag bearer, Dr Abu Sakara, Ms Samia Nkrumah, Dr Onzy Nathan Nkrumah and Lawyer Bright Akwetey.

The date for the CPP presidential election is yet to be decided.
