NPP Issues: Agyapong Is Loud...But Afoko Is A Troublemaker

Dr Richard Amoako Baah, Head of the Department of History and Political Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology who had long wished for the suspension of NPP’s Paul Afoko has described him [Paul Afoko] as a quiet yet divisive person.

He explained that – “Until recently, I can tell that he [Paul Afoko] didn’t talk much about his party in public. Kwabena Agyepong [NPP Generation Secretary] is rather loud in public on NPP matters. Until recently Afoko was decent,” he said.

He was speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show Ghana Montie hours after the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP] suspended National Chairman, Paul Afoko.

Dr. Amoako Baah told host Kwasi Aboagye that – the NPP took the right decision to suspend its national chairman to save the party from losing election 2016 – after describing the beleaguered chairman as a “troublemaker”.

Asked if he thinks the NDC wants Afoko to remain at post, he replied; "They [NDC] know Afoko will continue to create troubles for the NPP to dim their [NPP] chances of winning the next election.
