No Person Within NPP Is Above The Law - Nasara Coordinator

National Nasara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party, Kamal-deen Abdulai has supported his party's suspension of the National Chairman, Paul Afoko.

Speaking in an interview with Peacefmonline.com, the NPP National Nasara Coordinator stated categorically that no person in the NPP is above the party's constitution.

To him, who faults the constitution should be sanctioned and so, Mr. Afoko's indefinite suspension is no "mafia tactics" as some party folks believe.

He explained that the party has laid down rules and regulations which should be followed and obeyed by the rank and file of the party, including the National Chairman.

But it appears since Mr. Afoko was elected NPP National Chairman; the party has "never known good peace."

This is because, to Kamal-deen Abdulai, the Chairman has occasionally refused to honour calls from the party leadership to hold meetings and also defied the constitutional structures of the party.

Without holding any beef with his party's Chairman, Mr. Abdulai stated that "the party is a party with structures and the structures have spoken…"

"The framers of the constitution of the party had wisdom to think that we needed to put in place disciplinary procedure…Irrespective of whoever is in the party that is culpable to some arrangements in the party, then of course those measures will be taken or resorted to.

“We wrote more than seven letters or so demanding for meetings, just Steering Committee meetings which is supposed to be in charge of the day to day running of the party…This time round, leadership; I believe it has moved from authority to influence. Talk to people. Try to see how you can get people to understand that we all have common goal.”
