Madam Akua Donkor, flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has asked political parties to stop pressurizing Charlotte Osei, Chairperson of Electoral Commission (EC) for a new voters register.
Taking her turn at the ongoing two-day EC forum which started on Thursday, 29th October, 2015, Akua Donkor said just like how a mother ensures that her children are satisfied, Madam Charlotte Osei will do same to all the political parties.
“She is our mother; and this wasn’t the kind of welcome we should have given her…we should have welcomed her with joy but all we did was to ask for a new voters register. She is a woman and a mother to all and so we should stop requesting for a new register".
Akua Donkor also gave her comments on why minors register and how she told Ghanaians in the United States of America (USA) that President Barack Obama cannot interfere in Ghana’s electoral process.
