A Kumasi Circuit Court has jailed a 29-year-old Nigerian to 12 months imprisonment in hard labour for stealing a number of scratch cards and a motor-bike all estimated at GH�3,034.6 from TiGo, a telecommunication company.
Clement Philip Chima Amajuoyi, an Ibo, was a former sales boy of the company.
He pleaded guilty to both counts and he was convicted on his own plea.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Philip Bebli told the court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Amoh-Yartey that on October 20, 2008, Amajuoyi was supplied with the cards and motor-bike to sell the cards.
After selling the sales, he spent the money and went into hiding.
Upon a tip-off, Mr Henry Boateng, General Manager of the Kumasi branch caused his arrest on August 27, 2009 at his hide-out in Accra.
Inspector Bebli said Amajuoyi was therefore handed over to the Striking Force Unit of the Ghana Police Service in Kumasi.
In his caution statement he admitted the offence and was therefore charged.
