A Public Relation Officer of the Film Directors Guild of Ghana (FDGG), Mr. James Clarke, has noted that the creativity that used to be in the Ghanaian movie industry was diminishing.
According to him, there are lots of unprofessionalism in the system, making the industry unattractive.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Today, Mr. Clarke emphasised the fact that some of the movie characters do not want to learn.
“I will be happy if the story and the script writers will write their scripts in synopses and not in dialogue so that characters will learn the scripts well and bring out their own skills when acting,” he disclosed.
He was of the view that most of the movies in Ghana were produced by people who did not know the principles of movie production
Mr. Clarke, who is also actor and a movie director, said what was even killing the movie industry was the poor investments and poor level of healthy competitors.
“Ghanaians are not also supporting and patronising enough to help home artistes market themselves well,” he stated.
He also lamented that government was not helping the movie industry.
