Let Our Tamale Vote Count NPP Group On Afoko

A group calling itself Concerned Supporters of the NPP have besieged the party’s headquarters in protest against the suspension of National Chairman, Paul Afoko.

According to them, they voted for Paul Afoko to be their Chairman and so party leaders cannot just decide to suspend him without any justifiable reason.

The group is made up of about 500 constituency officers from Ashanti, Upper East and Brong Ahafo Region.

Speaking to this issue in an interview on PEACE FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Special Assistant to the General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, Davis Opoku Ansah, popularly known as OPK, said he is encouraged by the ‘just course’.

OPK, who met with the party officers when they got to Accra said: “I am encouraged that party members across the country are concerned and are seeking justice. They are saying that Let my Tamale Vote count. I think the party leaders should listen to them because their views count. I support the just course…why won’t I support them”

Sheikh Dauda Mohammed, Kintampo North constituency secretary said their mission in Accra is to petition party leaders for Paul Afoko to return to his office as the party’s National Chairman.

The group according to sources will first hold a press conference at the International Press Centre and then go to the party headquarters to present their petition.
