Members of the Judicial Service Association of Ghana (JUSAG) have called off their strike following the release of funds by government to cover their outstanding allowances.
JUSAG members threatened to embark on an industrial action over unpaid outstanding allowances comprising of leave, fuel, overtime, and other allowances.
In a statement issued to the Ghana News Agency on Friday in Accra, JUSAG said government had released funds to cover their demands, saying that “we are therefore calling off our intended strike with immediate effect.”
It expressed the Association’s appreciation to government for honouring their demands.
The statement further noted: “We, however, will like to call government’s attention to our consolidated salaries approved by the Judicial Council and submitted for approval by the President.
“We believe that the coming into effect of our consolidated salaries will stray any industrial action that may be related to the payment of our salaries and allowances”.
It appealed to members to accord the Finance Department of the Judicial Service time to finalize the internal processes for payments into their individual accounts.
