Buhari And Ouattara Didnt Begin Governance At An Old Age; Stop Comparing Nana Addo To Them - Kofi Adams

National Organiser of the NDC, Kofi Adams on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show has begged to differ with those comparing Nana Akufo-Addo to Nigerias’ Muhammadu Buhari and Alassane Ouattara of Ivory Coast, because the NPP’s flagbearer has no knowledge in governance.

He explained that though Buhari and Ouattara are above 70 years, they started planning for their respective countries at their youthful stage as head of state in Nigeria and Prime Minister in Ivory Coast respectively.

“Alassane Ouattara is not new to governance and this is where people make mistake comparing Akufo- Addo to him in terms of age. Ouattara was not 70 years when he became President; he has been a Prime Minister and nearly became President before their constitution was changed to deny him. Alassane Ouattara was young when he went into government,” he stated.

He added that “Akufo-Addo’s ministerial position cannot be compared to Ouattara’s Prime Ministerial position. Prime Minister runs government but Minister doesn’t run other ministers except his office”.

“When you compare Alassane Ouattara to Akufo-Addo, it is an insult to the Ivorian President. I’m sure if any Ivorian hears this, they will get angry because they are not co-equals at all,” he argued.

Touching on the history of President Buhari of Nigeria, Kofi Adams recounted that Buhari has been a head of state of Nigeria when he was young with knowledge of government; thus, he did not start at an old age as Akufo-Addo wants to do.

He reiterated that the New Patriotic Party’s three times Flagbearer was fortunate to be part of the administration of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
