NGO offers Scholarships to seven students to pursue SHS

The Dan Borsor Scholarship Scheme, an Accra based NGO, has awarded Scholarships to seven brilliant but needy JHS leavers in the Jomoro District of the Western Region to pursue their three year SHS education.

The beneficiaries are made up of three females and four males.

The beneficiaries, who are from Half-Assini, Nsei and Nkroful Senior High Schools (SHSs), were presented with cheques totaling GHC7, 260.00 as their first term school fees, and also covers their boarding fees and other expenses.

The beneficiaries got between aggregates 13 and 17 in the BECE.

This brings to 22 the total number of Students in the area, who have so far benefited from the Scheme to continue their education since its inception in 2005.

The Secretary of Scheme, Mr Francis Lokpoh presented the cheques to the beneficiaries on behalf of the founder of the scheme, Mr Dan Bonsor at short ceremony at Takinta over the weekend.

Mr Lokpoh urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the huge investment the Scheme is making in their education by taking their studies very seriously and advised them to emulate the good example of Mr Borsor by investing in the needy in future.

Ms Perpetuah Tanoe, a beneficiary, on behalf of her colleagues assured the scheme managers that they will take their studies seriously to justify the investment made in them.

Mr Anthony Cudjoe, whose ward benefited from the Scheme, on behalf of the parents thanked the Scheme for the assistance, saying that, it would have been very difficult for their wards to enter SHS because of their financial positions.
