Let Musicians Elect Their President Okuraseni Samuel

Ghanaian High Life musician, Okuraseni Samuel has expressed his dissatisfaction on the formation of delegates that elect the MUSIGA President.

According to the “Dabi Dabi” hitmaker on Bekwai based Dess fm on their Entertainment Show last Saturday, the singer said most of delegates are not musicians and others are old musicians.

“We are the musicians and we know our problems. So why do people who are not in active music elect our President? I mean my brother it doesn’t make sense. People who are artist managers, sound engineers, producers and old musicians are the people who are the delegates. We those in active music are not given the chance to vote. The old musicians have their era past and we are in new era. They must include the active musicians in voting for our own leaders”.

Meanwhile, the singer said once the delegates have chosen the leaders they will continue to support them. But he however wants the delegation to be extended to the active musicians.

The Musicans Union of Ghana(MUSIGA) held their elections recently seeing Bice Osei Kuffuor(Obour) through to his second term of office as the President. He came ahead of Gyedu Blay Ambulley and music producer and engineer, Appietus.
