Joe Addo Praises Mourinho On 'Intelligent' Baba Use

The ex-Frankfurt defender has extolled the Blues boss on his handling of the Ghana international.

Former Black Stars defender Joe Addo has lauded Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho for his sparing use of Ghana left-back Baba Rahman.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Blues in the summer from German outfit Augsburg, has seen limited opportunities at the English outfit, much to the dismay of many Ghanaians who would rather see the youngster start at Stamford Bridge, considering Branislav Ivanovic's uninspiring outing so far this season.

“I like the way the coach [Mourinho] is using him,” Addo told TV3.

“He is not putting so much pressure on him [Baba] and every game he has played, the club has won.

“Ghanaians want him to play every game but I think Mourinho is doing
the right thing by easing him in nicely.

“Hopefully in the subsequent games, if he gets the chance, he will do better than before.”

In only Baba's second appearance in the Uefa Champions League last week, the former Asante Kotoko man impressed as the Blues snatched a late 2-1 victory over Ukrainian side Dinamo Kiev.

The defender has also made three league appearances for the London-based side.
