Fatau Dauda: We Must Not Underrate Comoros

The Black Stars goalkeeper warns his teammates against complacency when they take on Comoros in the 2018 World Cup qualifying double header.

Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has called on his teammates to face Comoros with all seriousness like any other team as both sides clash in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in home and away fixtures.

A number of local pundits believe the November 13 and 17 meetings would be a walkover for the Black Stars.

However, the former Ashantigold shot-stopper thinks it is wrong to feel Comoros would be an easy opposition.

“When Lesotho went to Comoros, I thought Comoros would be eliminated but the opposite happened,” Dauda told Starr FM.

“That should tell us how Comoros are. Playing against Ghana is enough motivation for Comoros. Every country can play so we don’t need to underrate them.”

Ghana are currently 30th on Fifa world ranking, having dropped 5 places from the previous rating while Comoros gained 16 places to leap to 177 position.

The Black Stars began preparations on Monday in Accra and will travel to Moroni this week for the first leg slated for November 13, with the return encounter holding four days later in Kumasi.
