3 NPP Supporters Remanded

Three people arrested in connection with the murder of NPP supporter, Abubakar Saddiq, were yesterday remanded in custody for two weeks by an Asokwa District Magistrate’s Court.

They are Issah Usman, the Asawase Constituency Youth Organiser, Hajia Wasila Gariba, Deputy Constituency Women’s Organiser and a party activist, Alhassan Issah.

The Asawase NPP Chairman, Isaac Kwaku Brenya and others who were also arrested in Connection with the murder did not appear in court.

They are still in custody assisting in police investigations.

Prosecuting, Superintendent Emmanuel Akonnor told the court that there were new developments which required further investigations before Isaac Brenya could be arraigned.

The court, presided over by Mr. Korkor Achaw Owusu, adjourned the case to November, 24.

Saddiq was murdered last Friday, in an attack allegedly linked to the suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko.

The assailants who were on a motorbike, attacked him with machetes and then fled.

Duna has been identified by the police as the man who stabbed and killed Saddiq.
