Ghana Needs $2.2bn To Bridge Housing Deficit- Mr. Alhasan Andani

Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Ghana, Mr. Alhasan Andani has indicated that to tackle the housing deficit in Ghana, a total of $2.2 billion would be needed and this he adds could be achieved through private public.

To bridge the gap, Mr. Adani disclosed that the nation needed 170,000 housing facilities a year and foresees government struggling to put up 1.7 million housing facilities if it is to work alone.

The MD for the bank made this statement at a ceremony to cut the sod for the construction of the SKYVILLE premium apartment project at a site of the former Shangri-La Hotel.

Initiated by KO&G, a Korean firm together with Ghanaian development firm Armen Kassardian, the two hundred and ninety seven (297) multi-purpose apartment projects have been estimated at $200 million and spans a 150,000 square meter land.
                     
It would include residential homes, exclusive banded shops, restaurant, cafeteria, fitness center, swimming pool and state of the art Kassardjan office complex.
