Unmasking Anas Will Be Disastrous

Member of the NDC’s Legal Team, Abraham Amaliba, says he finds it appalling reading the battle-of-statements between former Attorney-General, Martin Amidu and ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The series of ‘letter attacks’ among the duo comes after Amidu challenged and protested against Anas’ way of investigations – specifically his recent revelations on corruption within the judiciary.

According to Martin Amidu, Anas’ investigation was “unconstitutional. It is not allowed and, particularly, to do it in contravention of law, LI 1517, to do it in contravention of the company code.”

He contended that if Anas was not commissioned by the government, “the government would not have allowed him to breach all these laws,” and go ahead to grant him protection after his investigation.

But speaking on OKAY FM’s morning show Ade Akye Bia, Abraham Amaliba who seem not to be happy with the Anti-corruption campaigner, called on him to rather help Anas expose more rot in various institutions in the country since they are all fighting for the same cause.

“Martin Amidu should rather help Anas so they can both fight corruption and not fight him (Anas). He is behaving as though they are rivals. Exposing Anas means we are endangering his life.

“His work is very dangerous and unmasking him will be disastrous. I must say that I strongly disagree with Martin Amidu,” he told host of the show, Kwame Nkrumah Tikese.
