Despite Group of Companies Mourns With Nana Aba Anamoah

One of Ghana’s most popular television presenters, Nana Aba Anamoah, laid her father to rest last Saturday and several of Ghana’s big names and notables including former President Jerry Rawlings turned up to mourn with her family.

The brief and solemn pre-burial church service was officiated by Rev Fr Andrew Campbell at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Accra.

There was an impressive show of solidarity from the media fraternity to the bereaved journalist who though in a state of mourning, kept a calm composure and was seen flashing smiles intermittently.

The Despite Group of Companies, operators of Peace FM, Peacefmonline.com. Okay Fm, UTV, Neat FM and Hello FM, were represented by two top management members, Fadda Dickson and Michael Annan, as well as lawyer Tweneboah Koduah, host of UTV morning show, ‘Adekye Nsroma.’

Nana Aba’s former colleagues at TV3 and former co-hosts of the New Day, Sandra Ankobiah, Benny Blanco, and actress Ama K Abebrese were present.

Also present at the service were Bridget Otoo, Martin Asiedu-Dartey, Caroline Sampson and many other friends from the media fraternity.

Nana Aba is an avowed fanatic supporter of Manchester United and two of the British Club’s old stars, Andy Cole and Rio Ferdinand, took to their Twitter accounts to express their condolences to her.

The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin, and Black Stars player Jonathan Mensah also sent tweets of condolence to Nana Aba.
