My First Year Was A Good Job Done Avram Grant

Avram Grant is almost a year into his job as coach of the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars.

The Israeli led the Black Stars to the 2015 African Cup of Nations final where they were beaten on penalties by winners Cote d’Ivoire.

On Tuesday, Ghana beat Comoros by two goals without reply at the Baba Yara Stadium to progress in their road to make the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Grant told Pulse.com.gh after the game he believes he has done a good job in the opening 12 months of his contract.

“We have big ambitions for this team. We did well for in the African Cup. We did well and we want to continue. It’s a process. Next month I will finish one year in my job and I think for the first year it was a good job,” the former Chelsea boss said.

“It’s good [first year in charge of Black Stars] but there’s a long way ahead of us. Our target now is to qualify to the World Cup and to qualify to the African Cup. We know that we can make good things.”

The Black Stars coach also acknowledged the performance of Comoros who are the lowest ranked team on the continent.

He continued:

“All credit to Comoros. They played very well, they fought very well, they defended very cleverly, they moved the ball forward. They didn’t get any chances but it was not easy to play against them.”

A superb free kick from Mubarak Wakaso and a Jordan Ayew goal in each half won the game for Avram Grant and his Black Stars team.
