Kwesi Appiah Making Progress

Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah has made a huge progress towards recovering from his serious knee injury as he has started swimming as part of his rehabilitation process.

This means the England-based striker is close to making a full recovery from the injury he suffered six months ago with Ghana.

The Crystal Palace suffered the setback while training with the Black Stars in June ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius.

As he has started swimming, it means he has reached the final stage before he starts running in the gym which could come in the next two weeks.

Appiah would have been hoping for a breakthrough at the club Crystal Palace this season but scuppered by the injury that struck while he was training with the national team.

The Ghanaian forward, who played at the African Cup of Nations earlier in the year, spent time on loan at Reading last season and scored plenty of goals during a loan spell at Cambridge United and was given a new deal by Palace for his efforts.

Unfortunately he has been unable to make the impact he would have wanted at Selhurst Park this term.

The 24-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury whilst training with the Ghana national team that looked like ruling him out of action for the rest of the year.

So far that has been the case but he is seemingly on the road to recovery.

Appiah is a talent that Palace clearly have some belief in with the contract they gave him last season.

If he can return from his injury issues in good time then he might just still have an impact at Palace this term.
