LEAKED?

What’s going on here then?

It appears European Sports Media have accidentally leaked the result of this year’s Ballon d’Or.

European Sports Media are the media outlet behind the Golden Shoe award and ESM European Team of the Year that occur on an annual basis.

They seem to think Lionel Messi will win his fifth Ballon d’Or while prolific German forward Celia Sasic will take home the women’s award. Both extremely likely results.

The official Ballon d’Or ceremony isn’t until 11 January but it seems someone at ESM already knows the result.

Perhaps there has been a publishing error or maybe it’s simply a trial run for the real thing. Either way it’s all rather suspicious.
