Dawn Raid @NPP Hdqtrs...Police Deny Any Involvement In Incident

The Police Administration says it has no hand in the recent raid of the NPP Headquarters. It says there is absolutely no cause to entangle the police in the unfortunate incident, explaining that its mandate does not include such nefarious activities.

A statement issued by the Police and signed by the Director-General/Public Affairs, Rev. David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin said the administration has noted with concern efforts to entangle the Service with the raid.

"Owing to the investigations and the court case on-going, the Police Administration was not going to comment on the allegation. However it has become necessary to do so, to set the record straight due to the continuous peddling of this falsehood.

"The Police wishes to assure the general public that the Service is committed to its mandate of maintenance of law and order, and that it will continue to protect lives and property of all Ghanaians and all persons living in the country without any let or hindrance.

"Whilst calling on the good people of Ghana to disregard the unfounded allegations, the Police Administration is equally entreating persons who have any information on the unfortunate incident to report to the police or any appropriate quarters for the necessary action."
