“I saw my acquittal in a dream,” Ekow Micah, the ace musician who was freed by an Accra Circuit Court on Monday stated after the discharge.
Micah told journalists I saw in a dream that: “I was on my way to court when thunder struck and the handcuffs on my hands fell off. So I knew I was going to be set free today”.
Micah said he gives thanks and praise to his heavenly father, adding “I can’t say it all. I will hold press conference soon. I have also written a song known as Nazareth which would be outdoored”.
He urged all to read the Numbers 6 and Judges 13 in the Holy Bible adding that he had nothing against Asamoah Gyan, Ghana's Black Star Skipper.
Counsel Mr Andrew Kudzo Vortia said he was glad his client had been freed.
Micah was charged for possessing narcotic drugs without lawful authority.
He denied the offence but was kept in lawful custody until his acquittal.
Narrating the facts of the case earlier, ACP Moses Atibillah said Micah is a resident of Ogbojo, near Kokrobite in Accra.
He said, on August 4, Micah was arrested by the Airport Police over an alleged extortion case currently under investigation.
ACP Atibillah said the following day, at about 1130 hours, the police and the accused person visited Micah’s house to conduct a search and in the process, a quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp was found concealed in Micah’s “back pack”
Meanwhile the Court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh delivering his judgement was of the view that the prosecution failed to make a case against Micah.
“Having considered the evidence in totality on record, authorities cited by prosecution and defence and the application of the law, prosecution failed to establish a case to warrant the conviction of the accused.
