Kwabena Agyepong Will Be Suspended For 6 Months - Informer Editor Predicts

The Editor in-Chief of The Informer newspaper, Andy Kankam has predicted the fate of the General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong over issues of gross misconduct, among others, following a petition sent to the party’s National Disciplinary Committee.

According to him, the NPP’s embattled Chief Scribe will be suspended but not more than 6 months per the information available to him despite his swift move to appeal to some elders in the NPP to intervene for him.

Speaking to defend his publication on Monday, 7th Decemeber edition of the newspaper, Andy Kankam on Okay Fm’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show insisted Kwabena Agyepong has not only become sober, but is also begging for leniency in order not to be suspended indefinitely like his beleaguered Chairman, Mr. Paul Afoko.

He maintained Kwabena Agyepong is smart to have realized he is not bigger than the NPP and cooperating perfectly with the party’s Disciplinary Committee, unlike Afoko, has also decided to engage the services of very highly-regarded and prominent persons in the party, to intervene on his behalf.

He stressed he has been engaging with members of the committee, hearing his case and those of them in the National Executive to temper justice with mercy.

Andy Kankam reiterated that, unlike Paul Afoko and Sammy Crabbe, who decided to snub the invitation extended to them by the National Disciplinary Committee of the party, Kwabena Agyepong, although will not be left off the hook, will not be suspended indefinitely, having honored and been very cooperative with the Committee.

He however revealed per conversation he had with one of the National Executive Committee (NEC), “Kwabena Agyepong’s suspension will not go beyond 6 months, having shown a great sign of remorse, and also working very hard, through very powerful persons in the party, to intervene on his behalf”.
