Public Accounts Committee Chairman Calls For New Policy For Poor People

Mr. Kwaku Agyemang Manu, the Member of Parliament for Dormaa Central, has advocated for a new policy initiative for the poor and under-priveledged which systematically addressed over population and national development challenges.

He said such policy initiative could, for instance, control the number of children poor people brought forth to, and could cater for, that put the nation in a better position to deal with their social protection, address inequality and provide safety for such persons.

Mr. Agyemang Manu was speaking at the launch of the 1999 Dormaa Old Students Association (DOSA) of the Dormaa Senior High School in Dormaa – Ahenkro.

He asked the old students to form a network to share and exchange ideas about how to advance the course of their alma mater and ensure their mutual benefits.

Mr. Gordon Asubonteng, the Municipal Chief Executive, noted that the formation of a vibrant old students association came with numerous benefits for its alma mater, apart from individual members.

He urged them to keep abreast with trends and development in their school, to enable them explore ways of assisting it.

Mrs. Margarete Octhere Pomaa, the Headmistress of Dormaa Senior High School, thanked members of the Association for turning back to seek the advancement and welfare of their alma mater.

He appealed to other old students to emulate their example to help solve the numerous problems confronting the school.

The Association later presented a wall clock to the school.
