85 Bags Of Wee Burnt

Eighty five bags of Indian Hemp also known as ‘Wee,’ which have been in the police exhibit stores for the past 20 years have finally been destroyed at a land fill site in Sunyani, the Brong Ahafo regional capital.

This was after a Sunyani District Court ordered the burning of the bags of Indian Hemp.

The exercise was carried out under the supervision of the Sunyani Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Owusu Kokorand, Municipal Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Franklin Kramo.

The 85 bags of wee were set ablaze under the watch of the armed police officers.

The police personnel waited for all of the exhibits to burn completely before leaving the scene to ensure that the scavengers on the refuse dump do not quench the fire and retrieve residues.

Speaking to the press, DSP Kramo said the Indian Hemp were abandoned during swoops by the police, adding that some owners also abandoned them on highways.

According to him, the police kept the Indian Hemp for a long time due to the fruitless investigations.
