Tamale Poly Motor Thief Grabbed

Abdul Majeed Abubakari, 28, and Yussif Hanifa have been arrested by the police for allegedly stealing a motorbike belonging to a student of the Tamale Polytechnic.

Speaking to DAILY GUIDE, the complainant Sahada said she went for lectures and packed her motorbike in front of the school’s auditorium.

Sahada added that she realized that the suspect and another suspicious person were sitting close to the parking lot, stating that when she came out of the auditorium later she could not find her motorbike.

The complainant said she saw the suspect at a later date on campus and caused his arrest.

Abdul Majeed Abubakari tried to escape but he was given a hot chase by the students who apprehended him and handed him over to the police.

According to the Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, during investigations the suspect admitted to stealing the motorbike.

Abdul Majeed Abubakari led the police to the house of his accomplice, one Ganiwu alias fat man, who is currently on the run.

When the police conducted a search in his apartment, they found the stolen motorbike and some other dangerous implements used for their nefarious operations.

Yussif Hanifa, who was in the apartment of Ganiwu alias Fat man, was subsequently arrested and taken to the police station for interrogation.

The suspects are currently being held at the Tamale police station and would be arraigned before court after police investigations.
