Sports Minister To Meet Ghana FA Over League Delay

Sports Minister Dr. Mustapha Ahmed will today meet the Ghana Football Association over the delay of the Ghana Premier League.

The domestic top-flight has been on hold following series of legal battles between some Premier League Clubs and division one Clubs.

Premier League giants Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have their case pending after Hearts filed in an appeal following the Appeals committee’s ruling against them.

Dreams FC still have their qualification in limbo after Tema Youth protested against them for using an “unqualified” player in the division one League last season.

Techiman City have also been charged with match fixing allegation. The Premier league was tentatively scheduled to start on December 20 but as it stands, the FA seems to be in a dilemma over the exact date to commence the competition.

The meeting, according to the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, will address the current situation of uncertainty over the starting date for the Ghana Premier League; which has forced almost all the Premier League clubs to alter their pre-season plans.

All Clubs have already begun their preseason training exercise ahead of the 2015/16 season.
