Veep Advocates The Training Of Sign Language Teachers In The Country's Colleges Of Education

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur is calling for the training of sign language teachers in the country's colleges of education.

His reason is to help the hearing impaired and their able counterpart ultimately sit in the same classroom and learn from the same teachers.

Mr. Amissah-Arthur said this when he inaugurated the Supreme-Sign Institute at Weija in Accra.

He also stressed the need to demystify the education of the physically challenged.

According to him – this will provide an opportunity to progress from simply guaranteeing social protection for the physically challenged to embracing the development of equitable social, economic and cultural opportunities for them.
