Lions Inch Closer To Top 4 Trophy

Heart of Lions are a point way of clinching the top four title after they inflicted another victory over Asante Kotoko at the Ohene Djan Stadium on Wednesday night. Two goals from Kofi Nti Boakye and Daniel Acquaye were enough to render Stephen Manu glancing header meaningless as the Kpando-based side recorded an incredible off-season 2-1 win. Kotoko have remained winless in four matches and the pressure has mounted on the technical bench and the playing body. Fans who thronged the Ohene Djan stadium were incensed and used abusive language on the assistant coach Johnson Smith and his backroom staff and the players. Coach Herbert Addo who is yet to tie a new deal with the club was conspicuously missing from the bench fuelling speculations that he might be on his way out of the club. The Kumasi-based club remain bottom in the four club competition with no points. Lions have moved into poll position after they amassed 10 point with the closest challenges King Faisal on 7 points after they piped Hearts of Oak 1-0 in their clash at the Baba Yara Stadium. Hearts stay in third-place with 6 points with two games remaining in the competition for all teams.
