Winners Of Troofe Festival African Cooking Competition Awarded

Winners of the Troofe Festival cooking competition, an activity that allowed citizenry of different African countries to showcase their dishes especially variety of soups in Accra have been awarded.

The awarding package included a free trip to and fro any African country within the destinations of Air Côte d’Ivoire, mobile phones and other technological gadgets and packages from sponsors.

Ms Jamilatu Issa, a Ghanaian emerged the winner in the competition followed by Ms Audia Moussalou, a Gabonese.

Mr Wenceslas Appia, Managing Director of Winners Partners Groupe, the organizers of the festival said the Groupe is pleased to have undertaken such a step to promote African unity and uniqueness and therefore wish to get more sponsorship and partners in the 2016 festival to make it more comprehensive.

He said the purpose of organizing the festival was to promote African culture and dishes, stressing that the fact that the festival was held on the Farmers’ day indicates their gratitude to farmers for make their produces available to the entire citizenry for easy access.

Mr Appia explained that the Groupe chose to mark the celebration of the festival in Ghana because it is between Francophone countries and could be a better hub of promoting African culture and values.

“The Troofe festival is going to be bigger and better with variety of dishes from many African countries and as well be graced by many dignitaries in the next edition”, he said.

The Managing Director said the Groupe expected 700 atendees in the  second edition but will consider 1,500 attendees in the third edition.

He therefore urged organisations that support promotion of African values and cultures to support the Groupe to enhance the festival for its intended purpose.

Madam Micheline Yahot, Country Manager of Air Côte d’Ivoire said  they decided to support the festival when they found out that the main idea for organizing the event was to bring Africans together to promote their unique culture.

She said Air Côte d’Ivoire will definitely support the third edition of the festival and urged the Groupe to continue their good works.

Madam Yahot said the organisation operates within 19 countries and 21 destinations, therefore the winners were given the mandate to select a country of their choice with the destinations for a vacation and both winners chose Abidjan, the hub of Cote d’Ivoire.
