Michael Essien Returns To Stamford Bridge

Former Chelsea player Michael Essien returned to Stamford Bridge for the Boxing Day game against Watford

Ghanaian midfielder and former Chelsea player Michael Essien visited Stamford Bride on Saturday to watch the English Premier League Boxing Day fixture.

Chelsea who sacked Jose Mourinho after a poor run of form entertained Watford at home with new boss Guus Hiddink in charge.

Essien was denied the joy of seeing his former club take all three points as Watford held the Premier League Champions to a 2-2 draw.

Diego Costa opened the scoring for Chelsea with Troy Deeney leveling from the penalty spot for Watford tem minutes later.

Odion Ighalo put Watford ahead after the interval before Costa completed a brace to put Guus Hiddink’s side level at 2-2.

Oscar missed an opportunity to put Chelsea ahead from the penalty spot as both teams shared the spoils with a 2-2 score line.

Michael Essien shared after watching the draw for his former club Chelsea:
