Police in the Northern Regional Capital, Tamale are holding a 28-year-old primary school teacher for impregnating his 14-year-old pupil.
David Ananga, a former teacher of the E.P primary school in Tamale is said to have also defiled 9 other girls during school hours.
The teacher reportedly went into hiding after the incident early this year but the police picked him up from his hiding place.
He faces two charges of defilement and unlawful abortion, while his accomplice, Frederick Akoto has been charged with permitting defilement on his premises.
Speaking to Joy news, the Northern Regional Coordinator of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit, ASP Holatsu said the issue was reported to (DOVVSU) in October by the girls community members and the media.
He said the suspect went into hiding when the news broke out in October until last week when the police got wind of his hide out by the community members.
He was quickly picked up together with his conterparts.
He indicated that, the two are not alone in the crime but also the school authority and the doctor who administered the abortion are all under investigation.
