Illegal Speed Ramps, A Result Of Our Collective Irresponsibility - Minister

Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, Upper West Regional Minister, has said that the erection of illegal speed ramps by communities along highways was as a result of the society’s collective irresponsible behaviour.

“It is our collective irresponsibility that is making the citizenry to take that action to protect lives and properties”, he said.

Alhaji Sulemana said this while addressing a meeting of Municipal and District Chief Executive (MDCEs), Coordinating Directors, Presiding Members and Heads of Decentralized Departments and Security Agencies during the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) meeting in Wa.

“Just don’t sit and allow your driver to drive anyhow, you are a responsible person, help educate your drivers to drive cautiously by reducing the speed when entering into a community”, he said.

“When you do this, the only way the people can protect themselves is to construct those illegal speed ramps to compel drivers and motorists to reduce their speed when entering the community”, Alhaji Sulemana said.
