Today Marks President Mahamas Third Anniversary In Office

Today January 7, 2016 marks President John Mahama's third anniversary since he was sworn in as President.

In celebration, the President will preside over the Change of Guards ceremony at the Flagstaff House, after which he will spend the day on the farm with some rice farmers in Akuse, Eastern region.

This move is part of government’s agenda to encourage Agriculture to cut down on the country's huge import debt.

John Dramani Mahama served as the Vice President of Ghana from 2009 to 2012, and took over office as President on 24 July 2012 following the death of his predecessor, John Atta Mills.

He was elected to serve his first term as President in the December 2012 election.
