Football administrator, Abbey Pobi, has charged the Ghana Football Association to investigate organizers of the Asante Kotoko and Jagodina friendly match which was played in honor of Kotoko’s 80th anniversary at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

According to him, a Kotoko board member openly said on Radio that the friendly game was not important and that the gate fee should have been low for supporters as it was a waste of time.

“If you had the opportunity to go to the stadium to watch such a game, you have wasted your time,”  he said.

“GFA approved the friendly match and it is only them who can sanction a match, I urged them to investigate the organizers and both teams for future international friendly of such nature,” he added.

“The match was unnecessary and was not important at all and I don’t see why supporters should waste their time watching that game...I couldn’t have gone to the stadium to watch such an unimportant match.

“I feel the gate fee should have been GHc 1.00 and 50 pesewas and VIP should have gone for just GHc 2.00,” Abbey Pobi said.

Jagodina were thrashed 5-0 by Kotoko leading to the opening of a can of worms about the unpreparedness of the Serbian team for the all-important friendly match.

Upon arrival in Kumasi as a result of their unpreparedness, they had to employ the services of some-locally based players and solicit for other supports, such as jerseys and boots to be able to honour the match.

Reports suggests, Jagodina encountered difficulties traveling to Ghana and accounted in leaving most of their key members of their squad.

Jagodina are currently lying 14 out of 16 premier teams in the Serbian top flight league.
