Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie, has stated that the GFA had a successful premier league, but was quick to admit certain uncertainties in the division one league.

“The league is the major component of the football association and as such we had a successful premier league.

“I believe, having resolved all these cases and finished the league without any problem, I think we had a wonderful and successful league," George Afriyie said.

“The Division One apart from zone 3 & 1 we had some problems and some issues and that has delayed the commencement of the league which we are working on to resolve as soon as possible.”

George Afriyie hailed the football association for making it possible for the first time ever organizing a 16 division one league in the history of Ghana.

“Our job is to develop football and the more the player gets enough play time the better they become.

“Playing 16 club division one league is better than previous whereby they played 14 matches,” he added.

He believes a well-organized 16 club league brings out the best in the players and the best brand football development.

He is hopeful the challenges will help the football association to strategize things for a better division one league in the coming season.

AshantiGold, were declared winners of 2014/15 premier league season after Gt.Olympics, BA United and Heart of Lions were relegated from the premier league.
