'Nana Addo Has Destroyed Bawumias Career' - Koku

Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has called on the Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to start blaming himself for all unfortunate things happening to him in his political career.

Koku Anyidoho speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem” on Wednesday accused flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa AKufo-Addo of working to destroy the career of his running mate.

“The most painful thing is that Bawumia has allowed Akufo-Addo to destroy his life, and he is now wallowing in shame…,” he said on the show.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia resigned as the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana in 2008 to become the running mate of Nana Akufo-Addo.

He has since contested two elections with him – 2008 and 2012 – but have unfortunately lost all.

The former Deputy Governor following the defeat of the party in the 2012 elections led the party in evidence at the Supreme Court during the election petition.

He has since that time become a thorn in the flesh of the ruling party with his predictions on the future of the country’s economy coming to pass on most occasions.

He has since been named ‘an economic messiah’ by his supporters.

Some supporters of the NDC also claimed Ghana’s Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, who was also a Governor of the Bank of Ghana, cannot be compared to him.

His criticisms of the economic indices of the government, analysts have posited might have led to the government always seeking to attack his integrity at the least opportunity.

Koku, however, maintained that Dr. Bawumia has been falsifying documents just to please his boss Nana Addo and that has led to the tainting of his credibility.

He thus reiterates the call by his boss, Asiedu Nketia for Dr. Bawumia to be arrested by the police insisting that the duo, have become a threat to the security of the country.

“The police must use the coercive powers of the state to invite Bawumia and Akufo Addo or go to court and seek a writ of habeas corpus for Bawumia to produce the body of the Togolese register…,” he demanded.
