I moved to Chelsea to achieve my Dreams - Christian Atsu

Ghana winger Christian Atsu has revealed his decision to join English Premier League side Chelsea.

The 24-year-old made a shock move to the English Champions from FC Porto in 2013 having earned an opportunity to break into Porto’s first time after the departure of Brazilian winger Hulk.

The Ghanaian international has struggled to break into Chelsea’s first team since his arrival at Stamford Bridge two seasons ago spending most of his time on loan.

Atsu who is yet to make an appearance for the blues had loan spells with Dutch Club Vitesse as well as English Premier League sides Everton and Bournemouth where he failed to excel.

The player recently returned to his parent Club having endured series of injuries at Bournemouth which ruled him out in most of the team’s matches.

The former Rio Ave man has however revealed his audacious decision to join Chelsea indicating he wanted to achieve his dream by playing in the English Premier League.

“I think it was a really difficult decision for me to move to Chelsea because it was a new side,” he told Crosstheline

“It was very difficult but I moved there because it was my dream to play in the English Premier League so when I had an opportunity no matter what anyone said I had to do everything to achieve my dream.”

The winger could however earn an opportunity to make his first appearance for Chelsea when they take on West Bromwich in their English Premier League tie today.
