Bishop Bonegas Honoured

The Head Pastor of the Great Fire Pentecostal International Ministry Bishop Daniel Kwame Kissi Bonegas was over the weekend honored with a citation by the organizers of the Ghana’s first No Vote-based awards scheme called the Surprise Awards for Excellence.

The Citation, being the third to be presented by the SAE under its Religious Awards for Excellence category, was presented to Bishop Bonegas in recognition of his selfless commitment to the work of God and his numerous contributions towards the development of his congregation, orphanages, deprived schools, community development and widows and the needy both in Ghana and outside Ghana.

Bishop Bonegas could not hide his shock and awe since the citation came as a surprise to the leaders and members of the church.

The delegation led by the CEO of GOA Group Limited, Mr Gideon Ofosu Adjei said the citation forms part of the Surprise Awards for Excellence scheme which is instituted to award and honor deserving individuals and institutions that have chosen to pursue the path of excellence as well as working towards achieving it continually on daily bases by selfless devotion of their time, efforts and resources by adding value not only to their clients but also to the society at large.

The scheme which is given surprisingly to all deserving individuals does not come with nomination forms or text portals to determine winners. Recipients and winners are always determined by a selected jury or board for their enormous contributions to society.

“The scheme is assured on the basic principle that inspires an individual or Organizational act of goodness that encourages others to not only give but ensure that their giving has an impact on society in a bid to promote growth and development. It is such acts of benevolence coupled with a strong idea that when excellence is recognized, encouraged and awarded, then the values of transparency, accountability and integrity becomes part and parcel of the practice for development”.

As part of the special categories under the scheme, Citations are given to people who have over the years contributed one way or the other to the development of individuals and the society.

Mr. Ofosu Adjei mentioned that the main purpose of the scheme is to celebrate and encourage success as well recognize exceptional contributions of certain key individuals and organizations for their role in the development of our dear nation Ghana.

“It is designed to celebrate Excellence, Selflessness and Positive contributions to society and promote growth and improvement in the various categories of service. It is also an avenue through which individuals and organizations are pushed to give their best at all times despite the challenges that may accompany their work”.

Bishop Daniel Kwame Kisi Bonegas was recognized under the SAE’s Religious Awards for Excellence category for the reason that he has over the years contributed to most of the orphanages in the country and has through his benevolence contributed and transformed the lives of many especially women and children in Ghana.

From building a state of the art wash room for the Akropong School for the Blind and a main contributor to the Village of Hope at Awutu in the Central region and as well sponsoring countless children to access education and helping them acquire scholarships especially for brilliant but needy children from his congregation and beyond.

His leadership skill as a charismatic religious leader and service in the lord has been one of a kind and therefore deserved to be recognized.

Receiving the citation, Bishop Bonegas cautioned beneficiaries of such benevolence to ensure that the support they receive is put to good use and that they also grow themselves to help others.

“When some one helps you, you don’t have to sit down and spend or squander every thing, make sure you also use those opportunities to ensure that you have expanded in your area and grow to support someone too. The fact that Bishop Bonegas or some one has shown you kindness and has given you money or items doesn’t mean you can’t move from that level to another level of greatness, all great men and women in the world today where once helped or supported”.
