A group calling itself Freedom Fighters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described as 'preposterous' an order asking members of the party to desist from responding to various comments made by suspended National Chairman, Paul Afoko.
A statement signed by Perry Okudjeto, Deputy Director of Communication of the NPP cautioned its communicators "not to be distracted by Mr Afoko's comments"
However a statement issued on Tuesday said "our attention has been drawn to a GAGGING ORDER from one member of the NPP communication department, a certain Perry Okudzeto with regards to the thorny issues surrounding the illegal or otherwise Suspension of our National Chairman Paul Afoko".

RE- NO COMMENT ON MR PAUL AFOKO
Our attention has been drawn to a GAGGING ORDER from one member of the NPP communication department, a certain Perry Okudzeto with regards to the thorny issues surrounding the illegal or otherwise Suspension of our National Chairman Paul Afoko.
Honestly, this restraining order is preposterous and should not be allowed to manifest in a party, which thrives on democratic principles. We are irritated by this gagging order from Mr Okudzeto. Ever since, Mr Afoko was suspended, we have been battling to diffuse series of dangerous misperceptions and misinterpretations that came along with this unnecessary suspension.
We believe in fairness and we were inculcated to communicate truth, nothing more than the truth. Now that Mr Afoko is laying bare the truth, we believe, propagating it will help restore the dignity of the party and some of these dangerous misperceptions that are gaining grounds against our party and flag bearer. Mr Afoko remains a member of the NPP and such order like this from Perry is preposterous a day mischievous
Yes, the legal aspect is in court. However, the political aspect, we will have to communicate the truths in the issues irrespective of whoever is culpable.
